Melissa & Joe’s story

I meet Melissa & Joe after they first inquired about a Purplpro potency analyser.
They were looking to test the Medicine Melissa was using.
Their story became a compelling case for us here at Access Kaneh. The very notion that Cannabis was helping Melissa through her fight with cancer was just a reinforcement of cases we had seen from across the world.
Melissa, was first diagnosed with cancer over 5 years ago.
It has been a long and rocky journey that Joe and Melissa have been on.

When the NHS informed Melissa that things had reached a point where it was time to put her affairs in order, Joe, her husband thought of a half remembered documentary shown on ITV.

Melissa redefined her life, moving to a plant based diet and reducing all processed food, they navigated the complex world of Cannabinoid therapy and developed an holistic lifestyle. They are now making remarkable progress.
The initial advice they were given by the some on Rick Simpson Oil proved incorrect. There have been other wrong turns and setbacks but Melissa and Joe are strong people fighting hard. They have now found the right path and with the help of their Church have made enormous progress. Reductions in Melissa’s tumours mean the consultant team who had initially turned her over to palliative care are now allowing Melissa to write the treatment plan as the results are beyond normal expectations.
Melissa and Joe are now getting Cannabis products on prescription for as long as they can afford them. They hope the NHS will see the benefit moving forward and start paying for the medication.
A remarkable journey of belief, bravery and determination have given Melissa and her lovely family some great times since her diagnosis so long ago. Power to them and a testament to what is possible for some. We will be following their story as it develops.
